Aside from the main forms of abuse that we generally think of to describe abuse, the same places that falsely market themselves like academic boarding schools and/or therapeutic programs also often use forms of captivity, humiliation, coercion, and mind control. After learning about WWASPS, shortly after this, Angelique found it disturbing to view pictures of kids in dog cages and other images that were uncovered in raids and media investigations conducted on other WWASP programs. Then came the personal accounts of victims, news stories, informative books like Help At any Cost, and documentaries. Having underestimated how the misuse of power and abuse can spread Angelique feels a great obligation to see oversight and education take place in a way that permanently shapes the residential industry and quality of foster care systems.
