Our membership year runs from January 1 through December 31.
Membership Entitlements
One Member One Vote: At any member meeting, each member is entitled to one vote, in person or by proxy.
Vote on Board Members or to Amend the CAFETY Bylaws: Bylaws may be amended by the voting members at the Annual Meeting of the Members, provided that notice of the proposed amendment has been included in the notice of meeting. A vote of two-thirds (2/3) of the voting members is required to change with a majority of voting members present to meet the quorum requirement established under CAFETY’s bylaws.
Vote on Removal of a Board Member: By vote of a majority of the voting members at the Annual Meeting of Members or at a special meeting of Members, you may vote for the removal of a board member.
Receive Notice of Meetings: Written notice of the place and time of any meeting shall be given to each voting member by mail anywhere between ten (10) and fifty (50) days.
Receive Notice of a Special Meeting: You will be notified about the purpose for which such special meeting has been called and the person(s) calling such special meeting. Exception: Notice need not be given to any Member who (i) submits a signed waiver of notice whether before or after the meeting or (ii) attends the meeting without protesting such lack of notice prior to the conclusion of such meeting.
Call Special Meetings: Special meetings shall be held whenever called by written demand to the Secretary of ten (10) percent of the voting members.
