Community Alliance for the Ethical Treatment of Youth (CAFETY)

On July 2010, CAFETY posted an online survey to systematically gather reports from individuals who were placed in a residential program when they were adolescents. The survey was posted on our website, emailed to our members as well as members of various other youth empowerment organizations such as Youth Power, Youth Move and the National Youth Rights Association. The survey was also posted on forums for alumni of residential care and Facebook groups for alumni from various types of residential programs. From July 2010 to July 2011, over 350 people responded to the survey.
