CLEVELAND (AP) — Three former employees of a Cleveland residential center for troubled teenagers have been indicted in the death of a 17-year-old girl who choked on vomit and suffocated after she was restrained face down, a control technique the governor has since banned.
Faith Finley died Dec. 13 at Parmadale Family Services in Parma, run by Catholic Charities.
Indicted Wednesday on several counts were Cynthia King, 32, of Warrensville Heights, Lazarita Menendez, 28, of Bedford Heights and Ebony Ray, 33, of Broadview Heights. Menendez also faces counts for taking Finley's CD player, which the girl used to calm herself, and for shoving Finley's hand under her as she lay on the floor.
The three could not be reached for comment and no lawyers were listed for them in court documents.
